Ritalin 10 tablets and Ritalin LA capsules are prescribed for the treatment of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Ritalin 10 tablets are also used for treating narcolepsy. ADHD, previously known as attention-deficit disorder, is a behavioral syndrome that may be referred to by various terms such as minimal brain dysfunction in children, hyperkinetic child syndrome, minimal brain damage, minimal cerebral dysfunction, minor cerebral dysfunction, and psycho-organic syndrome of children. Ritalin 10 and Ritalin LA are part of a comprehensive treatment program for ADHD, which may include psychological, educational, and social interventions. Stimulant medications like Ritalin are not appropriate for individuals whose symptoms are caused by environmental factors or other primary psychiatric disorders, including psychosis.
